What We Do

As a human service provider, the Chief Seattle Club is the only organization to connect homeless and low-income Native people to distant reservations, cultures, languages, and even to relatives living in this area.

Some of the Club's members using our internet facilities

  • Basic Needs: Meals, showers, laundry, clothing and furniture donations, eyeglasses, bus passes, hygiene items, health care via Seattle Indian Health Board and KC Public Health.
  • Housing: Assisting members into shelters, providing help to move to transitional and permanent residences, financial assistance for move-in costs and assistance for eviction prevention.
  • Education: Rental Readiness training, job readiness, computer training, professional mentoring via a partnership with the city’s Title V program helping seniors move back into the workforce.
  • Individual Support Services: Access to drug and alcohol treatment facilities, access to public benefits via DSHS, Evergreen Treatment Services caseworkers, and specialized legal assistance through the Urban Indian Legal Clinic.
  • Cultural Programs: Native Art Program and Gallery, Women’s Justice Circle, Gathering Circle Offerings, monthly Swinomish Retreat, weekly Kateri Circle Mass, and frequent outings to tribes, pow wows, and museums.
